If there is an incident at your home (e.g., a guest is injured on your trampoline or while playing in your pool), or you are in an auto accident, your homeowner’s insurance or car insurance policy will protect you up to your coverage limits. Sometimes, though, that limit doesn’t cover the total cost of the claim, and you are held financially responsible for the rest. If someone sues you, these costs can become exorbitant.
With a New York umbrella insurance policy, the amount of claim not covered by your underlying insurance policies will be paid up to your coverage limit amount. (The recommended coverage limit for umbrella insurance is the total amount of your net worth.)
And, because use of your umbrella coverage is rare, it’s much less expensive than other insurance policies. It can be purchased separately or bundled with your home/auto insurance to save even more.
Our umbrella insurance policies cover:
- Bodily injuries from accidents with your vehicles or on your property
- Damage to other’s property
- Certain lawsuits
- Specific personal liability issues such as libel, slander, malicious prosecution, false arrest, and others
